The MagDrone R4 is an ultra-lightweight magnetometer equipped with 5 triaxial Fluxgates, designed to be attached to any UAV capable of carrying a 2 kg payload.
Unlike the MagDrone R3, the MagDrone R4 is specifically used for high-resolution mapping to detect small and compact objects and structures in the ground, such as UXO or archaeological features.
Recommended applications include:
- Searching for UXO (UneXploded Ordnance)
- Archaeology
- Surveying for any metal objects weighing a few hundred grams or heavier lying underground
It is important to note that the general rule with magnetometers, when detecting artificial objects or artifacts, is to fly as low as possible. The recommended altitude for tasks such as UXO search is 1 meter above the surface or even lower. This means that the drone should be equipped with a terrain-following system (included in the recommended magnetometer bundle).
